IDEMIA Public Security and Trinsic have formed a partnership aimed at broadening the network of businesses able to accept mobile driver’s licenses in the United States. The collaboration connects IDEMIA’s state-issued mobile credential infrastructure with Trinsic’s Identity Acceptance Network, allowing organizations to verify mDLs during online onboarding, authentication, and identity verification workflows.
IDEMIA Public Security’s Civil Identity division is the leading provider of state-backed mobile ID apps in the US, with deployments across New York, West Virginia, Iowa, Arkansas, and Kentucky, among others. Trinsic, which earlier this year sold its decentralized ID platform to focus exclusively on its acceptance network, provides businesses with a single integration point for more than 50 digital ID types globally.
Under the terms of the partnership, thousands of businesses connected to Trinsic’s digital ID gateway will gain the ability to accept mobile driver’s licenses issued through IDEMIA’s mobile ID applications. The joint solution will initially support five participating states, with plans to expand coverage. With the addition of IDEMIA’s credentials, Trinsic says it becomes the first platform to support every remotely verifiable digital ID in the US.
Matt Cole, CEO of IDEMIA Public Security, said the partnership extends the value the company delivers to the state jurisdictions that rely on its infrastructure. He noted that replacing physical ID uploads with mobile credentials reduces fraud while improving the user experience. Trinsic CEO Riley Hughes framed the announcement as evidence of how quickly digital ID acceptance is accelerating, citing the combination of IDEMIA’s deployment scale with Trinsic’s acceptance layer as a foundation for interoperable adoption.
The agreement reflects a shared goal between the two companies to drive both public and private sector adoption of mobile credentials, including joint educational events and product demonstrations. IDEMIA has also been active on the policy side, working to advance regulatory frameworks that support mDL use in commercial settings.
The companies plan to showcase the joint solution at the Deep Fake Summit, scheduled for March 2 to 4. IDEMIA Public Security recently received the world’s first ISO certification for mobile ID based on the ISO 18013-5 standard, a milestone that has supported broader enterprise interest in mDL acceptance.
