IDEMIA Celebrates Strong Performance in DHS’s Biometric Technology Rally

IDEMIA is celebrating its success in the Department of Homeland Security’s first Biometric Technology Rally.

Organized by the DHS’s Science and Technology Directorate (S&T), the Biometric Technology Rally was aimed at assessing biometrics specialists’ facial and iris technologies using the DHS S&T’s Biometric Technology Engine evaluation program. A number of companies, such as Gemalto and Herta, have shared details about their solutions’ performance in the Rally since results were published earlier this year, with IDEMIA now coming forward to highlight its success as a provider of a dual face and iris scanning system called OneLook.

As IDEMIA explains, only five of the 11 companies that participated in the Rally put forward dual, rather than unimodal, systems; and OneLook was one of the top performers, attaining a 93 percent user satisfaction score – one of the top three rankings across all 11 companies. It was also the only multimodal system to get a “failed to acquire face images” (FtAR) score of under five percent within 20 seconds.

OneLook’s strong performance in the Biometric Technology Rally was anticipated by IDEMIA’s top ranking in the ‘Webcam and Selfie’ category of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Face Recognition Vendor Test earlier this year. The company is showcasing OneLook at this week’s Future Travel Experience in Las Vegas, which kicked off today and runs until September 12th.
