IDEMIA and Saudi Arabia’s TCC Sign MoU on Digital ID and Smart City Initiatives

IDEMIA Public Security has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia’s Technology Control Company (TCC) to collaborate on advancing digital identity, biometrics, and smart city technologies. This partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to enhance security, operational efficiency, and citizen services across the Kingdom.

The MoU outlines joint efforts to deploy AI-driven biometric identification solutions across various sectors, including border control, transportation, and urban infrastructure. By integrating advanced technologies, the collaboration seeks to streamline processes at land borders, maritime ports, and airports, improving the overall travel experience and bolstering national security measures.

Focus on Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer

Beyond technological deployment, the agreement emphasizes the importance of local capacity building. IDEMIA and TCC plan to initiate training programs and knowledge transfer initiatives to equip Saudi professionals with expertise in biometric and digital identity technologies. This approach supports the development of a sustainable digital ecosystem within the country.

This partnership builds upon IDEMIA’s broader efforts to support digital transformation in the region. Earlier this year, IDEMIA also expanded its partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Tahakom to enhance road safety through AI-driven biometric solutions.

Strategic Alignment with Vision 2030

The collaboration between IDEMIA and TCC is strategically aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes the integration of cutting-edge technologies to drive economic diversification and improve quality of life. By focusing on digital identity and smart city initiatives, the partnership aims to contribute to the Kingdom’s goals of creating a secure, efficient, and technologically advanced society.

Gaurav Gupta, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Sales for Travel and Transport at IDEMIA Public Security, stated, “This collaboration underscores our commitment to enhancing the security and efficiency of the Kingdom’s travel, transportation, and smart city infrastructure, while also supporting the Saudi Vision 2030.”
