Humanity Protocol, a leading decentralized identity platform, has partnered with AI-powered Web3 information platform Kaito to launch “Yapper Credentials,” a new system for verifying authentic Web3 contributors. The initiative, announced today, aims to enhance trust and reduce fraudulent activity in crypto communities by connecting real human identities to verified on-chain contributions.![]()
The partnership comes just months after Humanity Protocol secured $20 million in funding at a $1.1 billion valuation, demonstrating significant investor confidence in their digital identity solutions.
Under the new system, Kaito will serve as an official Identity Validator on the Humanity Protocol network, categorizing users into three distinct tiers: Inner CT for recognized crypto influencers, Emerging CT for rising contributors, and Yapper for general platform users. Users who connect their X (formerly Twitter) accounts to Humanity Protocol’s testnet will automatically receive the base-level Yapper Credential.
The credential system builds on Humanity Protocol’s growing ecosystem of identity solutions, which recently expanded into healthcare through a partnership with Prenetics Global Limited and education via their collaboration with Open Campus.
“Through our partnership with Kaito, Yapper Credentials provide a meaningful way to recognize authentic contributions and translate social capital into a verifiable, on-chain identity,” said Terence Kwok, Founder of Humanity Protocol. “This helps users move through decentralized ecosystems with trust, while preserving their privacy and control.”
The credentials are designed to be portable across different blockchain networks, enabling users to carry their verified status between various decentralized applications and governance platforms. This interoperability reflects broader industry efforts to create standardized digital identity solutions, as users in higher tiers will also be eligible for bonus allocations in future airdrops.
Yu Hu, Founder of Kaito, emphasized the significance of combining social proof with decentralized identity. “Kaito’s Yapper Credentials add a new dimension to decentralized identity by spotlighting social proof of engagement in the crypto community,” he said. “By integrating on-chain reputation with cross-chain interoperability, we are creating a system where users can leverage their credentials in multiple applications while preserving privacy and security.”
The launch comes at a time when the crypto industry is increasingly focused on developing robust identity verification systems, as evidenced by the recent $10 million acquisition of Gitcoin Passport by the Holonym Foundation to build a comprehensive Proof of Humanity network.
