Hopae Launches hConnect: Global eID Verification Goes Live

Hopae today officially launched hConnect, a global electronic identity (eID) verification platform designed to facilitate secure, cross-border digital identity verification while preserving user privacy.

Wide eID Coverage and Wallet Compatibility

The new platform supports more than 100 government-issued eIDs, including plans to onboard all EU member-state eIDs by Q3 2026, according to the official announcement. Hopae also claims that hConnect is compatible with approximately 99 percent of existing digital identity wallets, significantly easing integration across ecosystems.

Built on Open Source and Global Standards

This launch follows Hopae’s March 2025 initiative, a $1 million developer bounty aimed at enhancing eID integration capabilities, further strengthened by extending the company’s open-source digital wallet SDK, hDCX. The platform is designed to be fully compliant with eIDAS 2.0, GDPR, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 standards, emphasizing transparency and interoperability.

“Our goal with hConnect is simple,” said Ace Shim, CEO of Hopae. “Make identity from around the world accepted instantly.”

Responding to Rising Demand for Cross-Border Identity

The launch coincides with increased global initiatives requiring standardized and interoperable digital identity systems. The European Commission’s recent technical standards for cross-border digital identity wallets are boosting demand for solutions like hConnect.

Organizations offering digital services now have access to a flexible, customizable interface for identity verification, capable of meeting regulatory requirements and supporting integrations with wallet providers, trust service providers, and relying parties. hConnect’s strategy positions Hopae at the center of the rapidly evolving global digital identity market.

As digital identity ecosystems mature worldwide, hConnect may serve as a key connector between national eID systems and international digital service providers—offering both performance and compliance at scale.
