Hopae and IDENTT Partner to Bring Government-Backed eID Verification to AML-Regulated Onboarding

Hopae and IDENTT have formed a partnership to connect government-backed electronic identity verification and wallet-based credential presentation with onboarding flows subject to anti-money laundering regulations. The collaboration combines Hopae’s digital identity infrastructure with IDENTT’s document verification, biometric face comparison, liveness detection, and screening capabilities.

The partnership is intended to let regulated organizations verify customers through national eID schemes and digital identity wallets, reducing reliance on manual document uploads where supported credentials are available. Hopae says its Connect platform provides access to government-backed eID schemes and wallet-based verification, while IDENTT provides identity verification and compliance tools for AML onboarding.

IDENTT’s technology stack includes AI-based document authenticity checks, biometric face comparison, liveness detection, and screening against sanctions lists and politically exposed person databases. The company provides these services to financial institutions, cryptocurrency platforms, and other entities subject to AML and KYC compliance requirements.

Hopae, a South Korea-based digital identity company, builds infrastructure for digital identity wallets and verifiable credential use cases. The company’s platform supports selective disclosure, allowing users to present specific identity attributes without exposing unnecessary personal data during verification.

The partnership targets markets where eID systems and digital identity wallets are becoming part of regulated onboarding. In Europe, the revised eIDAS regulation is driving adoption of cross-border eID recognition and digital identity wallets, while financial institutions continue to face customer identification and ongoing monitoring requirements under AML rules.

Wallet-based eID verification is emerging as an alternative to repeated document capture, especially for institutions that need higher assurance without adding unnecessary friction to onboarding. The Hopae-IDENTT integration is meant to combine credential presentation with biometric and compliance checks when a relying party needs additional assurance.
