HID Global Gets Another Perfect Score in ISO Anti-spoofing Testing

HID Global has another feather in its cap thanks to its Lumidigm multispectral imaging technology. The company has announced that its M-Series biometric devices have attained a perfect score in level one testing of the ISO/IEC 30107-3 Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) standard, the only ISO standard focused on anti-spoofing and liveness detection.

The achievement comes after HID’s V-Series devices attained the same feat, pointing to the sophistication of the Lumidigm technology supporting both product lines. Commenting in a statement, HID Global Product Marketing VP Michael Chaudoin emphasized the singular importance of the ISO testing, carried out by the renowned iBeta lab. “This is the most important certification for those needing independent validation that their biometric solution meets a very specific set of liveness-detection standards with the lowest tolerance for failures,” he said.

In attaining the ISO/IEC 30107-3 certification for two of its product lines, HID Global is in good company, further establishing itself as a leading biometrics specialist alongside the likes of facial recognition specialist FaceTec. And with presentation attacks becoming a matter of growing concern as biometric authentication is used more widely, HID Global can further differentiate itself as a supplier of spoofing-resistant tech.
