Guest Article: AI Is Getting Stronger. The Final Yes Must Stay Human.

ORBYX invites institutions to explore Human Intelligence Gate™ and a standalone approval Card designed to protect information and preserve human authority.

As AI assistants move from answering questions to coordinating tasks and preparing transactions, two questions become increasingly important: what information does a task require, and who authorizes what happens next?

ORBYX Inc., a U.S. technology company incorporated in Delaware, is inviting enterprises and institutions to discuss its patent-pending Human Intelligence Gate (HIG). A planned standalone ORBYX Card would provide a separate physical checkpoint for consequential actions.

Bureaucracy Is AI’s Lifeblood

Laws, contracts, records, forms, permits, signatures and approvals organize how society operates. Sensor feeds, operational records and system commands extend that machinery into the physical world.

AI can process this information at scale, and it can increasingly act on it. Bureaucracy carries more than information: it carries authority, the signatures and approvals that let things happen. That is what makes it AI’s lifeblood, and why the line between access and authority matters more as systems become connected.

A document or data stream may explain a situation without establishing permission to act. Knowing is not authorizing.

HIG is designed to make that boundary visible within the workflow.

One Gate, Every System

HIG’s architectural principle is independent of the device: wherever AI receives information or proposes an action, there should be a boundary governed by human permission.

Across supported implementations, the planned gate has four functions:

  • Governs what leaves: Limits disclosure to task-relevant information and shows the protected version before sharing.
  • Protects what stays: Keeps protected information within the designated private boundary, using local placeholders where appropriate.
  • Controls what comes in: Checks incoming requests for access, data or authority. Requests beyond existing permission return to the human for a decision.
  • Completes what returns: Checks responses before completion and restores protected details locally where required.

In everyday use, the person would review the protected request before sending it. A Privacy Receipt would record what was protected, what was shared and what returned. HIG cannot control how an outside AI service handles information once it has been shared.

HIG governs what leaves. Protects what stays. Controls what comes in. Completes what returns.

A Physical Checkpoint for Consequential Actions

The device that prepares a request should not be the only one that approves it.

The planned ORBYX Card would operate independently of HIG as well as alongside it, placing final authorization outside the phone, computer or controller preparing the request.

Designed to fit in a wallet, the Card would display the exact action, including the amount, recipient, command or directive where applicable.

Approval would require three checks, with each status shown on the display: fingerprint verification, a liveness check using the Card’s sensor and a deliberate press-and-hold confirming the displayed action. Each approval is designed to apply once to that specific action.

Through supported integrations, an emergency control would allow pending requests to be denied and connected agent or system delegations to be suspended until deliberately reauthorized.

An open interface is planned for participating services to verify approvals. Each receiving system would need to verify the approval and enforce its scope before execution.

First Release: ORBYX Avatar, Powered by HIG

HIG’s first release is planned inside ORBYX Avatar, a single iOS app for personal and business use.

Built around one person, one avatar, it would learn on its owner’s phone, explore opportunities, draft proposals, compare options and coordinate tasks. Requests to outside AI services would pass through HIG first.

Any transaction, commitment or other consequential action would require deliberate confirmation of the exact proposal shown. Confirmation would rise with the stakes:

  • Everyday requests: Low-risk proposals could be approved with a simple tap.
  • More important requests: An identity check would be combined with a fingertip pulse reading through the phone’s rear camera and flash, or an ORBYX wearable.
  • The most serious decisions: Large payments, contracts and legal commitments would require the ORBYX Card or a device meeting ORBYX’s proposed security and integration requirements.

HIGNET

ORBYX envisions HIGNET as a future environment where people, their avatars and participating services interact through their respective information controls and authorization requirements.

Avatars could arrange meetings, coordinate tasks or prepare business proposals. Each owner would receive one clear proposal to review and approve, while retaining the ability to enter the conversation and speak for themselves.

The avatar proposes. The person decides.

HIG Across Systems

The architecture is designed to be device-agnostic and provider-neutral. Long-term deployment options could include apps, operating-system services, developer tools and interfaces, browser extensions, proxies and network services across phones, computers, wearables, vehicles, local hubs and cloud environments.

Proposed integration areas include:

  • Financial and professional services: Protecting task-relevant information while preserving accountable human authorization.
  • Healthcare, research and public agencies: Applying privacy controls to sensitive workflows and maintaining human responsibility for consequential decisions.
  • Computers, AI agents and browsers: Defining permitted access and governing requests for additional authority.
  • Robotics, vehicles and remote systems: Supporting planning while requiring the appropriate approval for physical actions and critical commands.

These are development and partnership directions, rather than capabilities of the initial iOS release. Each implementation would require validation and supported integrations.

An Open Invitation

Enterprises, institutions, AI providers and system developers are invited to discuss HIG applications tailored to their workflows, information-handling needs and authorization requirements.

Individuals and businesses interested in early access to ORBYX Avatar are also welcome to get in touch.
