GetReal Adds Continuous Identity Verification to Its Deepfake Detection Platform

GetReal Security has made continuous identity verification generally available within GetReal Protect, its platform for detecting deepfakes and impersonation in live communications. The release, announced today, shifts identity assurance in voice and video sessions from a single entry check to verification that runs for the duration of a call.

GetReal Protect now combines four functions in one platform: multimodal deepfake detection, impersonation detection, continuous identity verification, and global threat intelligence covering known threat actors. The continuous verification component is designed to confirm that the person who joins a meeting remains the same person throughout it, rather than authenticating once at the start and assuming the session stays trustworthy.

“It’s time we reverse engineered and reimagine the concept of a background check and move to a pre-ground check,” said Matt Moynahan, Chief Executive Officer of GetReal Security. Chief Product and Technology Officer Jim Brennan described continuous identity verification as the kind of control the industry needs to address live-session impersonation.

The company cited the scale of the problem it is targeting, stating that deepfakes caused 1.6 billion dollars in global losses in 2025 and that synthetic identity fraud grew eightfold over the same year. “We are not ready for this threat and the threats are not hypothetical,” said Dr. Hany Farid, Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer of GetReal Security and a digital forensics researcher.

GetReal Protect integrates with Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, and Zoom, and the company says it supports more than 40 native integrations, including identity and access tools such as Okta, Microsoft Entra, and CyberArk. Alongside the detection functions, the platform incorporates global threat intelligence intended to flag activity tied to known threat actors during a session. The platform is SOC 2 Type II certified and the company states it is compliant with the GDPR, CCPA and CPRA, and the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.

GetReal’s researchers have documented the threat the platform is built to counter, including an investigation into a real-time face-swap tool sold to scam compounds that defeated a widely used deepfake detection model on nearly all of its samples. The continuous-verification approach contrasts with point-in-time tools, joining a market in which vendors such as Incode have launched dedicated deepfake defenses for identity workflows.
