Veriff has announced the appointment of Ott Kaukver to its Board of Directors. Kaukver, who previously served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at both Twilio and Checkout.com, brings extensive experience in scaling technology platforms and leading engineering teams to the company’s leadership.
The appointment comes amid strong growth for Veriff, which reported a 75 percent revenue increase in Q4 2024 and expanded its customer base by 60 percent. Kaukver’s expertise in scaling technology platforms aligns with Veriff’s continued expansion in the global identity verification market.
During his tenure at Twilio, Kaukver played a crucial role in scaling the company’s platform to support millions of developers worldwide. His subsequent work at Checkout.com contributed to significant technological advancements and rapid growth, experience that directly aligns with Veriff’s focus on enhancing its identity verification platform developments.
“With Ott on board, we’re doubling down on Veriff’s tech leadership and global impact,” said Kaarel Kotkas, Veriff’s founder and CEO. “Our tech in catching fraud like deepfakes sets us apart, surging the demand across the entire identity journey – be it liveness and biometric authentication, ID and age verification. I’m excited to have Ott join our mission to make the internet safer.”
Kaukver expressed enthusiasm about joining Veriff, particularly given the company’s recent technological innovations in biometric authentication and fraud prevention. “As an early investor, I’ve watched Veriff grow into a category leader with its AI-native product tackling the rising challenge of online fraud,” he said. “Veriff powering Silicon Valley tech giants across finance, gig economy, social, and e-commerce, proves the strength of its platform.”
