Flownamix Brings YEO Continuous Facial Authentication to South Africa

Flownamix Group has introduced YEO Messaging’s continuous facial recognition technology in South Africa, offering businesses biometric checks that continue during a digital session rather than ending once a user logs in.

The launch combines Continuous Facial Recognition with Liveness and Secure Enterprise Messaging. The services are available through Datanamix, SigniFlow and SMSFlow following an agreement with ExSo, the African licence holder for YEO’s technology, which has appointed Flownamix as a distributor.

The facial recognition software is designed for integration into existing web and mobile applications. YEO says it uses facial mapping, liveness detection and depth verification on the user’s device to check that the authorized person remains present. The company says biometric data is neither transmitted nor stored externally.

The messaging products add identity-verified text, voice and video communications through the YEO Messaging software development kit and YEO for Business. They combine the identity checks with end-to-end encryption and can be deployed alongside the facial authentication service or separately.

YEO previously released its Continuous Facial Recognition SDK for integration into third-party applications, extending technology originally used to restrict who could view content in its own messaging platform. The South African launch brings that approach into a local distribution and support arrangement.

Continuous authentication addresses a different part of the interaction from initial identity proofing: whether the person using an application remains the authorized user after access has been granted. Flownamix and YEO are initially targeting banking, financial services, fintech and insurance organizations.

Repeated biometric checks are also appearing in proposed rules for digital transactions. A Buenos Aires province bill on online betting would require facial verification at login, deposits and withdrawals, and bets above a regulatory threshold. That proposal concerns checks at specific actions, rather than continuous monitoring throughout a session.

Flownamix’s local portfolio combines several related services. Datanamix supplies identity verification and compliance tools, SigniFlow provides digital signature and workflow products, and SMSFlow handles enterprise messaging and customer engagement.

The new offerings give customers of those businesses an additional integration option for ongoing identity checks and secure communications. Flownamix and YEO will provide local support for organizations adopting the technology in South Africa.
