Fime has announced a strategic partnership with the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) to expand Near Field Communication (NFC) testing capabilities across China. As the only NFC Forum-accredited testing laboratory in the country, CAICT will adopt Fime’s latest NFC RF testing solutions, including the high-performance CTS III Contactless Test Station emulator.
The collaboration will allow CAICT to perform advanced analogue and digital NFC testing for smartphones and other contactless-enabled devices. The adoption of CTS III technology marks a significant upgrade in China’s testing infrastructure. Some tests can now be completed up to four times faster than with previous systems, enabling higher throughput while maintaining rigorous certification standards.
Streamlining NFC Testing and Innovation
Fime’s local distribution partner, Paralink, will provide manufacturers in China with access to these testing tools for in-house validation and design refinement. This approach supports earlier-stage testing, reduces the risk of certification delays, and improves product quality throughout development cycles.
“We’re removing barriers to innovation and getting solutions to market faster,” said Yi Chen, Sales Director, APAC & Country Manager, China at Fime. CAICT Senior Engineer Pang Shuai added, “We chose Fime’s solution for its advanced capabilities and reliability, which are essential for our rigorous testing standards.”
The initiative strengthens China’s position in the global NFC ecosystem. The country has played an increasingly influential role in NFC technology development, contributing to key specifications in the NFC Forum’s Release 15, including those focused on digital car keys for the automotive sector.
Ongoing Support and Future Compatibility
Fime will provide CAICT with continuous technical support and regular updates to test suites, ensuring long-term compatibility with evolving NFC standards. Manufacturers using the CTS III system will also benefit from Fime’s consulting services, supporting product development from initial concept through to certification and launch.
This partnership represents a meaningful step in accelerating the adoption of contactless technologies in China. By enhancing local testing capacity and streamlining product development, Fime and CAICT are supporting faster, more efficient deployment of secure and standards-compliant NFC-enabled devices.
