FacePhi is poised to expand its presence in the financial services sector thanks to a new partnership with Information Technology and Solutions and Services, or ITSS.
Based in Switzerland, the latter is a banking software integrator with 17 offices spread across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. The company says that it has worked with over 220 financial services providers, including major banks like Santander and BNP Paribas.
In announcing their partnership, FacePhi and ITSS did not disclose detailed plans for their efforts, but they indicated that “consensual identity verification with facial recognition will play a prominent role” in their efforts. FacePhi is renowned for its selfie-based customer identification technology, which has seen considerable enthusiasm from the financial services sector in particular.
“ITSS provides agile digital onboarding strategies that helps banks capitalize on the benefits of innovative technology. Our alliance with FacePhi will enable us to offer state of the art biometric solutions to banks and financial institutions,” said ITSS CEO Patrick Jaccoud. “We are excited to continue on this path with FacePhi ensuring that security and privacy continues to be paramount in banking digital transformation.”
For FacePhi’s part, CEO Javier Mira highlighted the growing use of biometrics in the financial services sector in recent years, and cited ITSS’s “long experience in the integration of software for banks” in suggesting that FacePhi will play an important role in its customers’ digitization efforts going forward.
The partnership’s announcement arrives shortly after Banco Santander and Spain’s Chamber of Commerce recognized Alicante-based FacePhi with the National SME Award for 2020.
