EyeLock to Show Off Access Control, Reference Design Solutions at CES 2018

EyeLock is getting ready to showcase access control solutions at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show.

The company has announced that it’s going to introduce event attendees to its nanoEXT solution, an outdoor version of its nanoNXT access control solution from a couple of years ago. Like that previous solution, nanoEXT uses iris recognition for user authentication, but is uniquely able to “withstand extreme exterior elements and all lighting conditions including sunlight,” according to a statement. EyeLock says nanoEXT is also able to authenticate users from a distance of 16-30 inches, and that it has an instant height-adjusting capability.

While EyeLock will put the spotlight on both of those access control solutions at CES 2018, it’s also launching its Harrington iris enrollment and authentication reference design. The solution uses optical, near-infrared imaging and can support scanning from up to 60cm; and EyeLock says it can be incorporated into a range of applications including “nurse’s stations, high-end business machines, cash machines and data rooms.”

That solution has already been integrated into Vicki, a new smart vending machine from ViaTouch Media, and EyeLock is evidently aiming to drum up further interest from other potential partners and OEMs as it showcases Harrington alongside its access control solutions at this week’s big tech event.
