A new bank in Pakistan, MCB Islamic Bank Limited, is going to offer customers biometric self-service with Diebold Nixdorf technology.
The bank says each of its new branches across the country will feature the technology. In a statement announcing the move, MCB Islamic Bank explained that its goals include “expanding access to financial services and reaching the unbanked population” with Diebold Nixdorf’s technology.
While neither the bank nor Diebold Nixdorf have offered specific details as to the services that the machines will offer, their services will presumably be along the lines of those offered through machines at Al Rajhi Bank, a Saudi Arabian institution that has just deployed Diebold Nixdorf biometric self-service terminals for debit card printing, check book printing, remittances, and so on.
Local distributor TouchPoint Limited will offer maintenance services for Diebold Nixdorf’s terminals.
