Delinea and Cyera Tie Privileged Identities to the Sensitive Data They Can Reach

Delinea and Cyera have integrated their platforms to connect privileged access management with sensitive-data intelligence, automatically correlating each identity with the data it can actually reach. The product angle is data-aware identity security: rather than scoring an account’s risk by its privileges alone, the integration weighs what sensitive information those privileges expose, across human, machine, and AI identities.

The integration links two halves of a problem that enterprises have typically managed in separate tools. Cyera discovers and classifies sensitive data across cloud and on-premises environments, and those classifications flow through an API into Delinea, where each identity is matched against the data it can access to produce a continuously updated risk assessment. The result is a single view of which accounts can touch mission-critical information, instead of an access inventory in one system and a data-sensitivity map in another.

That correlation is meant to change how access decisions get prioritized. An account that can reach highly sensitive data has its risk score raised automatically, which in turn drives prioritized access reviews and least-privilege enforcement toward the identities that matter most. The approach extends across on-premises, multi-cloud, and dynamic environments, and covers not just human users but the machine and AI identities that increasingly hold standing access to enterprise systems.

“Organizations cannot afford to manage access risk in one tool and data risk in another and hope someone connects the dots,” said Chris Kelly, president of Delinea, framing the integration as collapsing that gap into one assessment. The pitch lands as enterprises confront a growing population of non-human identities, where service accounts and autonomous agents can carry the same data-reaching privileges as employees.

The move fits a broader push to extend identity security to machine and AI actors. Delinea has separately tied hardware-backed human approval to AI agent identity controls with Yubico, and rivals such as Palo Alto Networks have launched platforms governing human, machine, and agentic identities together. Delinea’s own research has also argued that identity security now shapes cyber insurance coverage, with privileged access management a top underwriting factor.

The integration is available through both companies, connecting Cyera’s data classification to Delinea’s privileged access controls to score identities by the sensitivity of the data they can reach.
