The first official event from The Prism Project and Acuity Market Intelligence, the Deepfake Summit, will convene on March 2, 2026, in Houston, Texas, co-located with the STA Identity & Payments Summit. The executive forum will bring together senior leaders from financial services, government, biometrics, and digital identity to address the escalating risks of AI-driven impersonation technologies, including deepfakes, synthetic identities, and agentic AI.
The event marks a new phase for The Prism Project, extending its established research into a live, interactive format. The forum will explore how deepfakes and synthetic identity schemes are evolving from isolated attacks into coordinated global fraud operations, increasingly challenging both payments and identity ecosystems. Participants will engage in strategic dialogue on emerging countermeasures, governance models, and regulatory frameworks designed to mitigate systemic threats to digital trust.
Rooted in the Project’s Resilient Trust framework – introduced in the 2025 Biometric Digital Identity Flagship Prism Report – the Deepfake Summit builds on a year of analysis examining how artificial intelligence is transforming fraud vectors and digital identity architecture. The Resilient Trust model outlines how layered defenses, biometrics, and continuous verification can help organizations manage privacy, compliance, and resilience in AI-driven environments.
That flagship report followed the Deepfake and Synthetic Identity Prism Report, released in mid-2025, which mapped the global deepfake threat landscape and detailed mitigation strategies across key sectors. The research projected deepfake-enabled fraud losses in the tens of billions of dollars by the late 2020s and warned that generative AI tools were accelerating impersonation attacks beyond current detection capabilities. The report also introduced a taxonomy for synthetic identity constructs and emphasized the need for alignment between fraud intelligence, biometric validation, and user experience design. The Deepfake Summit aims to translate those findings into actionable strategy through direct engagement between policymakers, solution developers, and enterprise risk leaders.
The Summit’s launch continues a theme established in earlier Prism Project coverage that underscored how AI-driven impersonation is reshaping biometric security, privacy, and digital identity governance. By co-locating with the STA Identity & Payments Summit, the Deepfake Summit links cross-sector initiatives to strengthen organizational resilience against synthetic identity and deepfake fraud.
“The Deepfake Summit marks a natural evolution of The Prism Project—from research and frameworks to real-world engagement,” said Maxine Most, Founder of The Prism Project and Principal Analyst at Acuity Market Intelligence. “By co-locating with the STA Identity & Payments Summit, we are bringing identity and payments leaders together to address AI-driven impersonation threats that now span both ecosystems.”
The Deepfake Summit is expected to include interactive sessions, executive roundtables, and technology showcases focused on detection, authentication, and governance. Registration and agenda details are available through The Prism Project and Acuity Market Intelligence websites.
