UK identity verification provider Credas Technologies has partnered with payroll platform Finity to embed biometric right-to-work checks directly into payroll onboarding workflows, automating identity compliance for more than 150,000 workers processed through the platform each month.
The integration connects Credas’s Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework-certified verification technology to Finity’s payroll system, which serves bureaus, recruitment agencies, and umbrella companies across the United Kingdom. Workers complete identity checks independently through the Credas mobile app, which uses facial recognition to match the person against their government-issued identity document in real time. The process replaces manual document collection and visual inspection by payroll administrators.
Credas’s verification system captures a live selfie and compares it against the photo on the presented identity document, confirming that the individual submitting the check is the rightful document holder. The check also validates the document itself and confirms right-to-work eligibility as required under UK immigration law. Results feed directly into Finity’s onboarding pipeline, and the company says the integration saves approximately five hours of administrative time for every 100 workers onboarded while reducing data entry errors and compliance risk.
The UK’s Digital Verification Services Trust Framework, formerly known as the DIATF, sets certification standards for providers offering digital identity services in regulated contexts. These include anti-money laundering compliance, right-to-work verification, right-to-rent checks, and Disclosure and Barring Service background screening. The framework was renamed under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, which established the DVS Trust Framework as the successor standard and placed it on a statutory footing for the first time.
Finity is purpose-built for the recruitment sector, processing payroll for bureaus, recruitment agencies, and umbrella companies where high-volume onboarding and strict regulatory compliance requirements are persistent operational challenges. Employers in these sectors face penalties for failing to verify right-to-work status before an individual begins employment, making speed and accuracy in the verification process a business-critical concern. The Credas integration is designed to accelerate the time from worker registration to first payment by removing manual document review steps from the onboarding process entirely, while maintaining a full digital audit trail for compliance purposes.
