Aratek is expanding its portfolio with a new line of facial recognition terminals. Released under the TruFace banner, the terminals will be formally unveiled at the upcoming SDW Asia 2019 event in Singapore.
While Aratek is an established supplier of fingerprint solutions – the company’s BIONE fingerprint algorithm recently received MINEX III certification – TruFace is the company’s big foray into facial recognition. The system is based on the company’s patented TrustFace algorithm, and is robust enough to handle live facial recognition. It also means that TrustFace is hardware agnostic and can be deployed in a variety of different situations.
“Since it’s algorithm-based, the live face detection system is not hardware-dependent which makes TruFace an inexpensive and reliable solution for many identification and authentication applications,” explained Aratek Sales VP Samuel Wu.
According to Wu, those applications include financial services, access control, voter registration, and time management, amongst several others. Aratek’s own TruFace terminals are equipped with an HDR dual-camera that is able to capture high quality images, allowing for accurate facial recognition scans in difficult lighting conditions like the outdoors or in darkness.
Those interested in the platform will be able to get a closer look when SDW Asia kicks off later this month. The event runs from October 8-9 at the Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore, where Aratek will be showcasing its wares at booth #417.
Other products on display will include Aratek’s flagship Marshall handheld, a portable biometric terminal that enables fingerprint matching in the field. The TruFace terminals will diversify Aratek’s portfolio, and should help facilitate the company’s current global expansion efforts.
To that end, the company has rolled out a Spanish language version of its website, and is eying the market in India thanks to its new STQC certification.
