BioCatch and Alloy Partner to Boost Digital Banking Security with Biometrics

BioCatch and Alloy have announced a new partnership to integrate behavioral biometric intelligence into Alloy’s identity risk management platform. The collaboration will enable Alloy clients—primarily financial institutions and fintechs—to access advanced fraud detection capabilities that leverage behavioral biometric signals.

Integration to Strengthen Identity Risk Management

Under the agreement, BioCatch’s behavioral intelligence will be made available directly through the Alloy platform, allowing for real-time analysis of user behavior during onboarding and account activity. This approach is designed to improve detection of high-risk behaviors, reduce false positives, and enhance protection against threats such as synthetic identity fraud.

The integration also supports regulatory compliance efforts by offering more robust identity verification tools that align with evolving expectations around fraud prevention and secure onboarding. Alloy, which provides identity decisioning infrastructure to more than 600 financial institutions, has been expanding its platform with new fraud monitoring and compliance features. The company previously announced a partnership with Q2 Holdings in January to deliver integrated fraud prevention for digital banking.

BioCatch Growth and Strategic Developments

The announcement follows a strong period of growth for BioCatch. The company reported a 40 percent year-over-year increase in Annual Recurring Revenue through Q3 2024. Later that year, BioCatch was acquired by private equity firm Permira in a transaction valued at approximately $1.3 billion. The acquisition has enabled BioCatch to increase investment in R&D and expand its presence in international markets.

In November 2024, BioCatch launched a behavioral fraud detection network called BioCatch Trust in collaboration with major Australian banks. This system allows participating institutions to share intelligence about potentially compromised accounts and use behavioral analytics to identify fraud risks during real-time transactions. The initiative reflects a growing industry trend toward collaborative, intelligence-driven fraud prevention.

Both BioCatch and Alloy see behavioral biometrics as an increasingly critical tool in combating sophisticated cyber threats and improving the effectiveness of digital identity systems. Their partnership reflects a broader movement in the financial sector to adopt layered, intelligence-led approaches to identity risk management.
