“Clearly, the most effective way for BIO-key to address the full range of enterprise cybersecurity challenges is by partnering with IT experts that regularly interface with customers and discuss their security issues.” – Mike DePasquale, CEO, BIO-key
BIO-key has netted a new customer thanks to a reseller partnership with Applied Technologies.
In announcing the deal, BIO-key did not name its new client, but described it as “a consumer facing service provider”. Applied Technologies, meanwhile, is an IT services firm that delivers solutions “in compliance with EU and Slovak registration,” BIO-key said, suggesting that the end client may be based in Slovakia.
Wherever it is, the client has opted to enhance its network security by using BIO-key’s biometric technology to move beyond password-based security. It will use BIO-key’s PIV-Pro FIPS-compliant fingerprint scanners together with the WEB-key 4.0 software engine and ID Director for Windows.
Commenting on the new deal, BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale suggested that it’s the direct result of a new reseller initiative. “This customer and new partner success comes just two weeks after launching our Customer Alliance Partner program for MSP’s, VAR’s and security integrators such as Allied Technologies,” he said. “Clearly, the most effective way for BIO-key to address the full range of enterprise cybersecurity challenges is by partnering with IT experts that regularly interface with customers and discuss their security issues.”
The deal’s announcement also comes in the wake of an FBI notice to its private sector partners warning about the emerging danger of sophisticated hacks against Multi-Factor Authentication systems, and recommending the use of security systems incorporating biometric authentication. That could further encourage more organizations to embrace the kind of security solutions that BIO-key is offering.
