BIO-key is continuing its road trip with a stop at the 2021 EDUCAUSE Conference in Philadelphia. The company has already attended two conferences in October, after putting in appearances at the NASCIO Conference and Connect:ID earlier this month.
The EDUCAUSE Conference is dedicated to higher learning, and will run from October 26-29 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The event gives educators a chance to talk about the issues that are affecting the industry, and to view solutions that can potentially address them.
For its part, BIO-key noted that cybersecurity has become a pressing concern, since academic institutions (like virtually every other institution) faced a growing volume of cyberthreats when they transitioned to a remote work and remote learning environment. Academic institutions now need a way to protect their students without disrupting their core educational mission.
That’s why BIO-key will specifically be showcasing its PortalGuard IAM platform, which can help simplify an organization’s cybersecurity set-up. To that end, the platform enables Single Sign-on capabilities for a number of different applications, and supports more than 16 different authentication options (including biometric options) for those who want to move away from passwords. Those features have made PortalGuard extremely popular with academic institutions, to the point that more than 200 higher learning facilities are now using the service.
“Now more than ever we need to come together to transform the education sector and ensure that the right cybersecurity safety measures are put into place,” said PortalGuard President Mark Cochran. “We look forward to connecting with higher education IT professionals to discuss how we can help evolve their cybersecurity strategies together, giving them IAM solutions that are built for them, delivered with the resources they have today.”
PortalGuard will be conducting demos of PortalGuard at booth 638, in addition to participating in Q&A sessions throughout the event. The platform also has a self-service password reset feature that can help reduce the number of calls to the IT department.
