NEXT Biometrics has received a major new order for its fingerprint sensors.
As part of the deal, the client must go unnamed, but NEXT is able to reveal that the order is for 160,000 sensors, and that they’ll ship between September and October of this year. The company has also asserted that the value of the order, combined with others that NEXT has received over the course of the last five weeks, totals about $1.4 million USD.
The order is a massive complement to the company’s recent receipt of an order for 34,000 sensors at the end of April, which also was from an unnamed client. It’s all welcome news as NEXT seeks to expand its partnerships and improve sales going forward from the high costs it endured in Q4 of 2014.
The company has also recently enjoyed plaudits from Microsoft for its biometric technology as it has been integrated into multiple Windows platforms. All told, NEXT appears to be on the upswing – a very positive trend that could have huge payoffs if it can be maintained.
