Bayometric Live Scan Software Earns FBI Certification for Fingerprint Systems

Bayometric’s Live Scan fingerprint software has received FBI Appendix F Certification, confirming that it meets the federal agency’s highest technical standards for fingerprint image quality and compatibility with the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system. The certification, issued by the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division, affirms that Bayometric’s digital fingerprinting technology complies with stringent criteria required for secure law enforcement and identity verification workflows.

The announcement comes as the FBI continues to invest in its biometric infrastructure. The agency has recently awarded a $159.8 million contract to enhance the CJIS system and is actively seeking advanced fingerprint matching algorithms to improve NGI performance. Against this backdrop, Bayometric’s certification positions it to participate more competitively in the government and enterprise biometric verification market.

The company’s Live Scan software supports 500ppi high-resolution imaging and full fingerprint capture, including four-finger slap and thumb roll or flat scans. It generates Electronic Fingerprint Transmission (EFT) files in line with the FBI’s Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification (EBTS), enabling secure submission to federal, state, and regulatory databases. The platform is also compatible with several widely used fingerprint scanners, including the Suprema RealScan G10, Integrated Biometrics Kojak, and Thales DactyScan 84c, offering flexibility for integration into existing systems.

The milestone comes amid growing global demand for certified biometric systems. Countries such as Armenia and Cameroon have recently announced major national projects built on high-assurance digital identity infrastructure. Armenia is partnering with IDEMIA to implement a nationwide biometric ID system, while Cameroon is rolling out biometric voter registration kits as part of its electoral modernization strategy. In both cases, certified technology plays a critical role in ensuring interoperability, security, and compliance with international standards.
