The integration was announced via AZCON Holding and reflects close collaboration with the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, which plays a central role in implementing Azerbaijan’s digital governance strategy. Through the updated system, users can now log into the Azerbaijan Railways portal using a variety of state-supported authentication methods, including SİMA İmza, Asan İmza, SİMA Token, personal identification numbers, and BSXM electronic signatures.
According to official communications from the railway operator, the integration is designed to streamline the user experience. Existing users are not required to re-register, removing a common barrier to adoption. The platform offers enhanced login security through verified digital ID credentials, safeguarding access to sensitive services such as ticket purchasing, cargo tracking, and account management.
Supporting a Broader Digital Governance Vision
The new digital access system is part of a broader modernization initiative aligned with Azerbaijan’s digital governance framework. The railway portal (https://portal.ady.az/) serves as a centralized platform for public transport services, following the single-window principle that underpins the country’s e-government strategy. It also supports interoperability with other national services, including integration with the MyGov platform.
Looking ahead, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC plans to expand its digital capabilities further. Upcoming improvements will target ticketing systems, cargo tracking, and safety management, all of which are intended to reduce reliance on paper documentation and improve operational efficiency. These initiatives aim to elevate the quality of service delivery and position Azerbaijan as a digitally advanced transport hub within regional and global networks.
