Authologic says businesses can now accept identity credentials stored in Google Wallet through its platform, letting them verify customers who hold a government, bank, or Google-issued digital credential on their phone rather than uploading photos of physical documents.
Google Wallet already lets people store verified identity credentials on their devices. Through its OmniID platform, Authologic says businesses can accept those credentials, including Google ID Pass, a digital passport the company says is available in countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, Singapore, and Taiwan. When a business requests verification, the user shares only the attributes needed, such as a name or an age confirmation, directly from their device.
OmniID connects businesses to a range of verification methods, including Google Wallet, government electronic IDs, EU Digital Identity Wallets, mobile driving licenses, bank-based verification, and biometric checks. Authologic says the platform automatically selects the most suitable method based on the user’s location and device, and offers fallback options for people who do not yet hold a digital credential.
“Google Wallet is already home to verified identity credentials for users across the world,” said Jarek Sygitowicz, co-founder and chief strategy officer at Authologic. “Our goal has always been to make those credentials accessible to businesses that need them for KYC/AML processes, without requiring a separate integration for every digital wallet or credential type.”
Authologic tied the move to a broader shift in how identity is issued, noting that EU member states must make digital wallets available to citizens by December 2026 under the eIDAS 2.0 regulation, and that twenty-one US states currently issue mobile driving licenses. As more governments and institutions issue credentials directly to personal devices, the company argued, more people will be able to verify themselves digitally, reducing reliance on document uploads and manual review.
The move builds on Google’s expansion of wallet-based identity, after Google Wallet and Google Pay added digital ID verification and as Google Wallet expanded digital ID support to India, Singapore, Taiwan, and Brazil.
