authID Wins Entra ID and ServiceNow Deployment at Industrial Automation Firm

authID has been selected by a global industrial automation company to secure its Microsoft Entra ID and ServiceNow environments, covering service desk verification and the onboarding of employees and contractors.

The deployment reaches tens of thousands of employees and contractors. The customer, which authID describes only as a global leader in industrial automation, has not been named.

Two requirements shaped the selection. The company onboards and identifies large numbers of contractors and needs to do so without exposing their personal data, and it needs to protect intellectual property tied to its manufacturing processes.

The decision followed a proof of concept covering ServiceNow password reset, Microsoft Entra ID authentication and biometric enrollment. The manufacturer then chose authID’s Proof identity verification product alongside Verified plus PrivacyKey for biometric authentication.

In operation, callers to the service desk are biometrically identified before a transaction proceeds, and the same tools handle self-service account recovery. authID also supplies onboarding and pre-boarding checks for staff and contractors, candidate validation during hiring, and passwordless authentication that works across devices.

The customer cited authID’s certified presentation-attack and injection-attack detection, support for 16,000 document types across more than 240 countries and territories, and a design that does not store a biometric template. The company states a false non-match rate of about 0.3 percent and a false match rate on the order of one in a billion.

Commercial factors also featured. The customer pointed to pre-built Entra and ServiceNow integrations available through authID’s marketplace application, the absence of professional-services charges during the proof of concept, and authID’s recently announced quantum-resistant architecture upgrade.

“Deepfakes and injection attacks are increasingly used to defeat traditional identity checks at the service desk and during onboarding,” said Rhon Daguro, CEO of authID. “By creating a biometric root of trust for every employee and contractor, we help this customer stop fraud before it starts.”

Manufacturing has been the most targeted industry for five years running and accounts for more than a quarter of global cyber attacks, according to the IBM X-Force Threat Intelligence Index. The customer is examining further uses, including identity proofing triggered by high-risk signals before a transaction completes, and support for shared workstations without company-issued devices.

The contract extends a run of workforce deployments for the company, which won a biometric workforce deployment at a global retailer in July and launched a PIV-aligned security package for critical infrastructure in February.
