AuthID Joins Secure Technology Alliance to Shape Digital Identity Standards

authID has joined the Secure Technology Alliance (STA), positioning itself to play an active role in shaping industry-wide standards for secure identity and authentication systems.

Through its membership, authID will participate in STA working committees focused on identity, access control, mobile authentication, and data protection. The STA serves as a neutral forum where leading solution providers, integrators, and regulators collaborate on advancing best practices and developing secure, interoperable technologies across industries including finance, healthcare, IoT, and government.

The timing is significant, coming shortly after authID’s launch of PrivacyKey, a privacy-first authentication system that eliminates the need to store biometric images or secrets. PrivacyKey employs a zero-knowledge architecture based on public-key cryptography: during enrollment, a public/private key pair is generated, with only the public key retained. The private key is discarded after each authentication session, ensuring no biometric or personal data is stored anywhere in the system.

This design allows authID’s platform to meet—and often exceed—global compliance standards, including GDPR, CCPA, and BIPA. The PrivacyKey system is also fortified by multi-layered anti-deepfake protections and advanced liveness detection, addressing emerging threats like synthetic identity fraud and AI-generated biometric forgeries.

“Joining the Secure Technology Alliance aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver innovative and secure biometric authentication solutions,” said Rhon Daguro, CEO of authID. “We are eager to collaborate with industry leaders within the STA to drive the adoption of secure technologies that protect identities and data.”

authID’s platform also includes Proof for identity verification, Verified for transaction authentication, and PrivacyKey for secure, passwordless login. The company reports a one-in-one-billion false-match rate, with authentication speeds as low as 700ms for onboarding and 25ms for repeat logins.

These claims have been independently validated by the Prism Project from Acuity Market Intelligence, which named authID a “luminary” in privacy-first biometric authentication. The report also forecasts a 300% increase in enterprise adoption of privacy-preserving digital identity technologies by 2028, driven in part by regulatory pressures and rising fraud complexity.

authID’s technology is already in production across sectors such as financial services and hiring platforms. Recent partnerships include Salus, where PrivacyKey is used to support secure financial inclusion initiatives, and TurboCheck, which uses authID’s tools to combat hiring fraud through biometric identity verification.

Christina Hulka, Executive Director of the Secure Technology Alliance, welcomed the collaboration: “We look forward to seeing how authID taps into its unique perspectives on biometric authentication and commitment to compliant identity verification to collaborate with fellow members across the technology landscape.”
