authID.ai has officially become the latest member of the Microsoft Partner Network. The development will allow Microsoft customers to use the company’s facial authentication technology when signing into Office 365 and Azure applications.
In that regard, authID.ai has integrated its Verified CloudConnect solution with Microsoft’s Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) to enable the new utilities. Customers can deploy Verified with a CloudConnect ADFS plugin, and then use the platform to gain streamlined access to their organization’s corporate materials. Verified offers Single Sign-on capabilities, and can be used on any desktop or mobile device with a selfie camera.
With Verified, users will be asked to confirm their identity with a selfie when they login with their regular Microsoft credentials. The selfie has liveness detection to ensure that the user is present, and is bound to the device that was used to collect it to deliver an even higher level of multi-factor security. The actual biometric template is encrypted, with authID.ai stressing that it does not store or process any personally identifiable information when identifying users.
authID.ai believes that Verified can guard against phishing attacks and mitigate the risks associated with passwords. The company also suggested that it can help minimize operational costs, since its solution does not require the purchase of dedicated authentication hardware.
“As a Microsoft Partner, we are empowering enterprises to enhance control of their security infrastructure and provide an easier, more fortified authentication experience for their teams,” said authID.ai CEO Tom Thimot. “We are excited that our new biometric integration with the Microsoft Office 365 and Azure platform will protect the data and IP of an even larger cohort of enterprises and professionals across the globe.”
The arrangement should further raise authID.ai’s commercial prospects after Verified CloudConnect was listed on the Auth0 Marketplace in December. The company released an updated version of the Verified Platform at the beginning of the year.
