VerifyMe is advancing its IP portfolio with a new Notice of Allowance for one of its US patents. The patent is entitled “System and Method for Providing Tangible Medium with Electromagnetic Security Marker”.
The company indicated in a statement that the patent “broadly covers the protection of confidential documents and systems for tracking and monitoring the movement of documents, packages or other printed materials or objects.” VerifyMe CEO Paul Donfried elaborated that the patent represents “the most recent addition to our arsenal of weapons that enable our clients to fight crime and theft,” adding that the US patent office’s “favorable review validates the originality of our technologies and the unique value we deliver.” The patent complements what is already a fairly rich IP portfolio revolving around three-and-more-factor authentication spanning risk scoring and what the company calls “adaptive authentication” methods that make use of fingerprints, voice, face, and gesture recognition.
The new patent appears to continue the company’s momentum after its recent brand refresh, which essentially saw the combination of two companies – biometric solutions provider LaserLock and its main technology developer VerifyMe. LaserLock bought VerifyMe’s IT portfolio and eventually adopted its name, and proceeded to build its executive team as it moves ahead with a fresh new brand and consolidated assets.
