On Friday Precise Biometrics, a provider of fingerprinting solutions for identity authentication that boasts technology licensed to almost 160 million users, received a hardware order worth SEK 9.9 million (USD 1.45) split between second and third quarters of this year, SEK 6.5 million of which was already delivered in Q2.
Precise Biometrics’ 200-series readers, combined fingerprint and smart card readers make up the order. The devices are to be used in conjunction with the company’s Precise Match-on-Card technology in an ID card project currently being undertaken by the Swedish government.
Since 2004 Precise Biometrics has regularly been supplying the government with fingerprint and smartcard readers. Satisfied with the ongoing demand for Precise’s two business units, which add value to mobile solutions and ID card markets, president and CEO Thomas Marschall pointed out that though the company’s primary focus is on Mobile business and Tactivo, Precise expects “that [it] will continue to see sales developing within our IAM business unit.”
