This latest Precise Biometrics-Synaptics integration comes quickly after another collaborative effort announced in May.
Precise Biometrics‘ flagship software algorithm technology has been integrated into another major smartphone, this time via a Synaptics fingerprint sensor.
In a statement announcing the integration, the company declined to name the latest “leading Chinese vendor” to have opted for Precise BioMatch Mobile technology. But the company did disclose that the deal will start generating revenue in the second quarter of 2016, suggesting that the device in question is likely to be on the market imminently.
While Precise Biometrics technology has been integrated into many smartphones over the last several months – by now it’s in devices from more than 30 vendors, the company says – those very often came about through a partnership with Fingerprint Cards. But Precise Biometrics has lately sought to expand its roster of hardware partners, with this latest Synaptics integration coming relatively quickly after another collaborative effort announced in May.
