“News of the agreement follows multiple other licensing agreements sealed by Precise Biometrics this year, including deals with sensor maker MELFAS and touch solutions provider Zeitec Semiconductor Co.”
Precise Biometrics has entered into a licensing agreement with a new client – Shenzhen-based electronic components maker O-Film. The client will use Precise Biometrics’ flagship mobile fingerprint recognition software, Precise BioMatch Mobile, in its new fingerprint modules.
In a statement announcing the agreement, Precise Biometrics described O-Film as “a leading provider of fingerprint identification modules” with a strong focus on the consumer electronics and automotive sectors. Precise Biometrics CEO Håkan Persson added that the deal “broadens our distribution channel and strengthens our position as the leader in fingerprint software.”
News of the agreement follows multiple other licensing agreements sealed by Precise Biometrics this year, including deals with sensor maker MELFAS and touch solutions provider Zeitec Semiconductor Co. A licensing agreement with Qualcomm, meanwhile, is poised to pay off in a big way with that company’s recent announcement of fingerprint sensor technology that can scan through metal, glass, and OLED displays.
