Anti-fraud company LaserLock continues its organizational refresh with a newly announced executive appointment: Benjamin Burrell is now the company’s Chief Operating Officer. The appointment takes effect immediately.
It appears to be an extension of a major overhaul the company started to undergo this spring, when the company acquired the assets of its main authentication technology provider, VerifyMe, and appointed a new CTO and CEO. At the time, the company also announced that it will be changing its name to VerifyMe, a process that is still underway.
For his part, Burrell brings with him a wealth of experience from the financial services industry, with a focus on technology. Starting his career at Barclays Bank – a traditional bank that has itself been embracing innovation technological solutions of late – Burrell spent the last 14 years working for JP Morgan, with much of his time there spent leading teams that were implementing tech-based financial services for clients.
Now, Burrell will have an opportunity to help lead an anti-fraud company with a renewed brand and focus. LaserLock has previously implemented VerifyMe’s biometric technology in high-profile deployments with such organizations as a Mexico-based online gaming company and a financial services advisory firm, and now that it has that technology in-house it’s poised to make an impact in the industry.
