EnterTech Systems has expanded its access control offerings with a new partnership with Digitus Biometrics. Integrating the latter’s db Bus and db Cabinet Sentry products into its BioConnect identity management platform, the company is now able to offer a comprehensive access control system for the data center and other such settings.
The new system is called db BioConnect, and enables biometric access control for server racks, cages, perimeter doors, and the like. Digitus has long specialized in biometric access control for cabinets, particularly in data center settings; while EnterTech has been busy in access control more generally, with deployments ranging from a medical marijuana facility to a luxury rental property. The two would appear to be a natural fit, with db Bus ServerRack Access Control offering efficient security for data centers requiring only a small component per cabinet, and EnterTech’s BioConnect providing an easy-to-use and scalable identity management platform.
Speaking in a press release, EnterTech Systems CEO Rob Douglas said that with the integration of Digitus technology into BioConnect, “all 15 of our certified access control partners will now be able to offer it to their customers,” adding that “end users will have access to an integrated biometric solution that secures access control from the data center entrance to the server cabinet instead of having to deal with stand-alone systems.” Digitus Biometrics CEO David Orischak echoed that sentiment, saying the integration allows the companies to “offer a single, centralized, highly advanced access control solution that’s easy to deploy and use.”
