As the mobile biometrics revolution continues, the APAC market will play an important role in driving growth, suggests Frost & Sullivan.
Announcing a new report focused on the APAC region, the market research firm asserts that continued growth is in store for this section of the overall mobile biometrics market. Key driving factors include growing adoption in mobile banking applications, collaborative innovations, updating smart devices, and, of course, security concerns.
In a statement announcing the new report, Frost & Sullivan Information & Communication Technologies Practice Principal Analyst Mei Lee Quah said that the APAC mobile biometric market accounted for 10 percent of the overall market in 2016 and that it is currently “experiencing strong growth. She also pointed to a couple of regionally-specific additional market factors, asserting, “The increasing use of smartphones and wearable technologies in the region, especially in highly populous countries such as India and China, are also strong drivers of the mobile biometrics market.”
