Anetac, a cybersecurity startup focused on identity vulnerabilities, is seeing an 83 percent conversion rate with customers who engage with its platform. That’s according to the company’s co-founder and CEO, Tim Eades, who appeared on the latest episode of the ID Talk podcast to discuss his company’s unique strategy and the evolving threat landscape.

Eades, a four-time CEO, attributed the remarkable success to a disciplined business strategy that aligns Anetac’s “vocabulary to the budget”. The company operates on a “channel first, channel only” model, partnering with organizations that already specialize in vulnerability management. By focusing on a problem these partners already understand, Anetac has created a sales motion with a clear rhythm and demand, Eades explained.
The problem Anetac solves, according to Eades, is a massive and often overlooked one: a digital world filled with “ridiculously over-privileged” identities. He described on-premise infrastructure as an “absolutely ugly thing” and argued that the long-held security goal of “least privilege” has become a “bit of a myth” in practice. Anetac’s platform goes beyond traditional scanning to analyze the behavior of these identities, identify risks, and create bespoke “treatment plans” to resolve them.
Beyond his own company’s success, Eades offered a stark warning about the future of security in the age of generative AI. He told ID Talk that the technology is “making a good hacker great and a great hacker scale,” creating a situation where regulations are moving too slowly to keep up with the escalating threats.
