Alcatraz Earns LenelS2 OnGuard Certification, Will Showcase Rock X Updates at GSX 2025

Alcatraz has announced that its Rock X device is now certified for LenelS2’s OnGuard platform under the OpenAccess Alliance Program, covering versions 8.1, 8.2, and 8.3. The company says the certification allows Rock X to be deployed directly into existing OnGuard-based systems, enabling customers to add facial authentication, tailgating detection, and other features without custom middleware. The integration is expected to begin rolling out in the fourth quarter.

Rock X is positioned as an edge device that combines facial authentication with administrative tools and privacy controls. It includes built-in tailgating analytics and SIP-based intercom functions, and can be configured as a second factor in conjunction with badge readers over Wiegand or OSDP.

The company’s platform updates, delivered through its service model, add upgrades such as adaptive two-factor flows, consent collection via DocuSign, opt-in face matching for cardholders, and enhancements to tailgating detection and intercom support.

Alcatraz plans to demonstrate these capabilities at GSX 2025 in New Orleans from September 29 to October 1, where it will exhibit at Booth #2824 and at partner stands. GSX materials highlight the event as a showcase for access control, biometrics, and physical security technology.

LenelS2, part of Honeywell, continues to develop OnGuard as its flagship enterprise platform, with version 8.3 now available. The system is widely used by large campuses and critical infrastructure operators for identity management, alarms, and video integration. OAAP certifications like the one earned by Alcatraz are often required for organizations upgrading their access control infrastructure.
