AIAI Holdings and its subsidiary Constellation Network have launched Arca Wallet, a self-custodial mobile wallet for holding and sending US dollar stablecoins that pairs low-cost cross-border transfers with a reusable identity verification step. The wallet is available on iOS and Android.
Arca lets users hold, send, and manage USDC and USDT, both dollar-denominated stablecoins, while retaining their own keys. Because the wallet is self-custodial, no institution, including Arca, holds user funds or can restrict access to them. International transfers settle in seconds at a flat 0.5 percent fee, which the companies contrast with a global average remittance cost of about 6.36 percent and conventional wire transfers that can take several business days.
The identity feature is central to how the companies are positioning the product. Users complete a single identity verification step and can then access an in-app marketplace of approved partner applications without going through onboarding again. The verification architecture is designed to extend to scenarios where trusted user information is required, including travel verification, healthcare registration, insurance enrollment, government benefits registration, employee onboarding, and mortgage or loan applications.
“Giving users with a smartphone the ability to hold and send currency without a bank account is exactly the kind of product we want in this portfolio,” said Todd Furniss, CEO and co-founder of AIAI Holdings. Ben Jorgensen, CEO of Constellation Network, said the model puts control with the user: “Your wallet and everything in it belongs to you. That means you hold your own keys, no institution can touch your funds, and you pay a fraction of what conventional services charge to send money internationally.”
The launch lands amid growing attention to how identity is embedded in digital-dollar products. One company has filed registration plans for an identity-embedded digital dollar token, and the US Treasury has opened a consultation on building digital identity into DeFi smart contracts to support anti-money-laundering controls.
Arca’s reusable verification model treats identity as a credential established once and presented across services, rather than a check repeated at every new application. Constellation Network provides the underlying distributed-ledger infrastructure, and the in-app marketplace gives partner applications a route to reach users who have already completed verification inside the wallet.
