4iG Moves To Acquire FaceKom In Hungarian Digital Identity Consolidation Play

Hungarian IT services group 4iG Informatikai Zrt. has announced the signing of a share purchase agreement to acquire 100 percent of FaceKom Kft., a company known for video-based customer identification and digital customer communication solutions. The transaction is expected to close following the completion of required regulatory approvals.

According to 4iG, FaceKom was founded in 2011 and specializes in secure video-based customer identification, omnichannel customer communication platforms, and electronic signature and trust services. The company’s technology is used by banks, insurance firms, utilities, and public-sector organizations, and includes solutions for remote customer onboarding and kiosk-based identity verification.

The seller is an EQUILOR-managed private equity fund, and the deal was disclosed through an extraordinary announcement on the Budapest Stock Exchange. 4iG frames the acquisition as a strategic investment designed to strengthen its digital customer service, IT security, and KYC compliance capabilities, while increasing the share of high value-added software services within its portfolio.

In comments attributed to 4iG IT CEO Gábor Radó, the company says digital customer identification and remote administration are becoming fundamental requirements for efficient and compliant operations. 4iG plans to leverage its international presence, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans, to expand the reach of FaceKom’s offerings.

The acquisition reflects ongoing consolidation around remote identity verification, electronic signature, and trust services. As deepfake-driven threats and video injection attacks grow more sophisticated, the market will be watching how FaceKom’s technology evolves under 4iG’s ownership, particularly in areas such as liveness detection, auditability, and integration with broader identity and access management stacks.
