1Kosmos Brings Step-Up Identity Verification to ServiceNow for Help Desk Recovery

1Kosmos said it has added high-assurance identity verification to ServiceNow, targeting help desk recovery, password resets and other workflows where weak manual checks can expose organizations to social engineering and account takeover.

The company said the integration is available through the ServiceNow Store and embeds the 1Kosmos platform directly into ServiceNow workflows. That lets organizations trigger identity checks at the point of risk rather than moving users into a separate process. The integration targets IT support and identity operations teams handling onboarding, account recovery and sensitive change requests, which have become common entry points for attackers.

The security rationale is straightforward. Help desks are often asked to move quickly, and attackers know that a rushed password reset or profile change can become a path to privileged access. 1Kosmos is positioning the release as a way to replace manual checks with stronger, repeatable identity verification inside the workflow teams already use. Its product documentation says the app works with out-of-the-box ServiceNow components, which suggests the company is trying to reduce deployment friction as much as the fraud risk.

In January, authID brought biometric identity verification to ServiceNow contact centers, and more recently HYPR introduced context-based attestation against synthetic identity and deepfake threats. What 1Kosmos adds is a more explicit focus on help desk recovery and operational change control, where a single failed identity check can ripple through an enterprise.

ServiceNow sits inside many large organizations as the workflow layer for access, support and change management. A biometric and document-backed verification step inside that environment shows how identity proofing is being pushed deeper into enterprise operations, rather than staying confined to external customer onboarding or stand-alone fraud tools.

There is also a workflow design angle here. Identity vendors have spent years focusing on customer onboarding, but internal service desks still rely heavily on judgment calls and fragmented tooling. A product that can be triggered inside ServiceNow during a reset, recovery or role change gives security teams a cleaner way to apply stronger controls without forcing staff to leave the operational system they already use.
